Declare Pt 1
Declare
Part 1
SPEAKING THE WORD OF GOD OVER YOUR LIFE
PHILEMON 1:6
What kind of things do you say about yourself?
Do you speak well of yourself, or are you hyper-critical of yourself?
Has your mouth become your greatest enemy?
Are you aligning your mouth with the Word of God?
The Word of God is clear about you. BUT, you must activate what the Word says.
“effectual” is the Greek word energeo.
It is where we get the word energy.
In this verse, the word energeo carries the idea of something that has suddenly become energized or activated.
Paul’s words could actually be rendered, “That the communication of your faith may become energized and activated.…”
“The word “acknowledging” in this verse holds the answer to the questions above.
This word is from the Greek word epignosis, which describes a well-instructed, intensive, deep knowledge of the facts.
The word epignosis is a pictures a person who knows his facts like a professional. This is a person so sure of his information that when he speaks, he does so with confidence and boldness.
He has no reason to be ashamed or to fear that others may accuse him of being incorrect because he is well instructed and has an intensive, deep knowledge of the facts.
KNOW who you are in Jesus Christ.
KNOW what Jesus has purchased in your redemption.
KNOW every good thing that God has placed in you by Jesus Christ.
KNOW that all these truths that is so concrete and so unshakable that you are immovable in what you think and believe.
example: a salesman confident in what he sales.
Too many people know the truth, but never walk in freedom because they never align their mouth with the truth.
HEBREWS 4:12-13
PROVERBS 18
What we speak, whether positive or negative, will have consequences.
What we declare will bear fruit.
James reminds us that our tongues are powerful—and that what we speak out of our mouths has power to direct our lives. (James 3:3-5)
“Your word, Lord, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens.” (Ps 119:89)
How to Turn a Scripture into a Prophetic Declaration
A scripture is prophetic when it speaks of the Father’s intention and purpose for our lives personally.
Here are some ways to turn a Bible verse into a spoken profession of faith:
Declaring God’s word is powerful, whether or not it has been given to you through prophetic means.
Memorise the scripture or write it out and use it to speak from.
‘Blessed is the one… whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night.’ (Psalm 1:1-2)
Bold declarations are powerful in times of warfare or when breakthrough is needed.
We don’t have to speak loudly in order for a declaration to be effective.
The Hebrew word ‘to meditate’ also means ‘to mutter’—to speak aloud to oneself—and this can even be done under our breath or quietly.
EXAMPLE:
Prophetic Declaration Based on Joshua 1
‘This is a new day. I am entering into the ‘Promised Land.’ I am entering into the plans and purposes of God for my life. Now, I am entering into my inheritance and receiving God’s promises, each and every one.
Nothing can stand in my way and no enemy will prevail against me, for God is with me. He will never leave me or forsake me.
I am strong and courageous; I am not fearful or discouraged. I feed on the Word of God, keeping God’s Word in my heart! And, I obey it.
Now, I have success in that which God has called me to.”
