RESTORATION RELIEF
In late September of 2024, Western North Carolina was hit with the most devastating storm recorded for that area. A few days after the storm, we deployed a team of 34 to the hardest hit areas. Ultimately, we set up a base camp in Swannanoa to serve the region. Over the next 13 weeks we hosted roughly 900 volunteers that ran several thousand missions saving lives and helping people get back on their feet.
Through the generous given of thousands of donors from all over the world we were able to provide temporary housing via campers or sheds for 50 families. Additionally, we assisted 11 families in rebuilding their homes after flooding. Through a team of volunteers that continue to serve in western North Carolina we are continuing to serve specific needs and anticipate our efforts will extend into the spring of 2025.
Through the terrible disaster in western North Carolina and our efforts there, Restoration Relief was born. Restoration Relief will continue to serve as a crisis and disaster relief agency for eastern North Carolina and the surrounding area. With the resources we were able to acquire during our relief work in western North Carolina we will be able to deploy teams quickly to hard hit areas after future disasters. We will be able to quickly deploy teams to serve those affected by hurricanes, toranados, house fires, floods, etc. Our mobile command center will serve as a self sufficient station where we can quickly dispatch teams, victims can charge important devices, etc. Our mobile shower and laundry trailers will quickly serve families in need by allowing them to quickly get showers and do their laundry regardless of the power and water conditions. Our 53 foot tractor trailer of relief supplies can quickly be moved and set up for distribution within hours of a disaster.
We are grate full for the volunteers and donors that made our work in western North Carolina possible. We are excited about the future of this ministry and look forward to the unique opportunity to present the gospel to those hurting and in need when the time comes. Restoration Relief is not just a humanitarian relief organization, it is a beacon of hope in the mist of tragedy. We believe that through crisis and disaster the Lord will give us opportunities to not just meet a physical need, but also a spiritual need through salvation, healing and encouragement.
