What We Believe

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

WHAT WE BELIEVE

ONE GOD
We believe there is but one living and true God, everlasting, of infinte power, wisdom, and goodness; Maker and Preserver of all things, both visible and invisible. And in the unity of this Godhead, there are three Persons of one substance of eternal being, and equal in holiness, justice, wisdom, power, and dignity; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.
THE SON
We believe the Son, who is the Word of the Father, the very and eternal God, of one substance with the Father, took man’s nature in the womb of the blessed virgin; so that two whole and perfect natures, that is to say, the Godhead and the manhood were joined together in one Person, never to be divided, whereof is one Christ, very God and perfect man, who actually suffered, was crucified, dead, and buried, to reconcile the Father to us, and to make atonement, not only for our actual guilt, but also for original sin.
HE IS RISEN
We believe that Christ did truly rise again from the dead, and took again His body, with all things appertaining to the perfections of man’s nature and ascended into heaven and there, sits until He shall return to judge all men at the last day.
THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe the Holy Ghost, proceeding from the Father and the Son, is of one substance, majesty, and glory with the Father and the Son, very and eternal God.
THE WORD OF GOD
We believe in the verbal and plenary inspiration of the Holy Scriptures, known as the Bible, composed of sixty-six books and divided into two departments, Old and New Testaments. We believe the Bible is the Word of God, the full and complete revelation of the plan and history of redemption.
LIFE AFTER DEATH
We believe that eternal life with God in heaven is a portion of the reward of the finally righteous; and that everlasting banishment from the presence of the Lord and unending torture in hell are the wages of the persistently wicked (Matthew 25:46; Psalm 9:17; Revelation 21:7, 8).
ULTIMATE SACRIFICE
We believe that Jesus Christ shed His blood for the remission of sins that are past, for the regeneration of penitent sinners, and for salvation from sin and from sinning (Romans 3:25; 1 John 3:5-10; Ephesians 2:1-10).
JUSTIFICATION
We believe, teach, and firmly maintain the scriptural doctrine of justification by faith alone (Romans 5:1).
SALVATION
We believe that Jesus Christ shed His blood for the complete cleansing of the justified believer from all indwelling sin and from its pollution, subsequent to regeneration (1 John 1:7-9). We believe that all people are sinners by nature and by choice and are, therefore, under condemnation. We believe that those who repent of their sins and trust in Jesus Christ as Savior are regenerated by the Holy Spirit. (John 1:12-13, John 3:3, 16-17, Acts 20:21, Ephesians 2:1-9, Titus 3:5)
SANCTIFICATION
We believe in sanctification. While sanctification is initiated in regeneration and consummated in glorification, we believe it includes a definite, instantaneous and continuous work of grace achieved by faith subsequent to regeneration (Acts 26:18; 1 John1:9). Sanctification delivers from the power and dominion of sin. It is followed by lifelong growth in grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 4:16; 2 Peter 3:18).
HOLY SPIRIT BAPTISM
We believe that the Pentecostal baptism of the Holy Ghost and fire is obtainable by a definite act of appropriating faith on the part of the fully cleansed believer, and the initial evidence of the reception of this experience is speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance (Luke 11:13, Acts 1:5; 2:1-4; 8:17; 10:44-49; 19:6).
DIVINE HEALING
We believe in divine healing as in the atonement (Isaiah 53:4, 5; Matthew 8:16, 17; Mark 16:14-18; James 5:14-16; Exodus 15:26).
SECOND COMING
We believe in the literal second coming of our Lord, the literal rule of Christ upon the earth, the resurrection of the regenerate to eternal life and the unregenerate to eternal damnation, and the ultimate victory of the eternal Kingdom of God.(Acts 1:9-11, Daniel 12:2, Revelation 22:1 -7)
- Jesus Christ, who was raised from the dead, is still alive today.
- Jesus Christ is seated at the right hand of God and He is interceding on our behalf daily.
-John 3:16 says that God so loved the world. The word “world” is translated cosmos, which means the earth and the entire universe. God is not just in love with His highest creation called man, but He is in love with His creation.
- Jesus Christ’s rule (government) will literally be established in the earth. We await His literal return to the earth.
GREAT COMMISSION
We believe it is the responsibility of every believer to dedicate his life to carrying out the work of the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15-20; Acts 1:8).
UNIVERSAL CHURCH
We believe in the universal church, a living spiritual body of which Christ is the head and all regenerated persons are members. We believe in the local church, consisting of a company of believers in Jesus Christ, baptized on a credible confession of faith, and associated for worship, work and fellowship. We believe that God has laid upon the members of the local church the primary task of giving the gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost world. (Matthew 16:16-18, Acts 2:38- 41, Ephesians 2:19-22, Ephesians 5:25-27)
FOR HIS GLORY
We believe that Christians should live for the glory of God and the well-being of others; that their conduct should be blameless before the world; that they should be faithful stewards of their possessions; and that they should seek to realize for themselves and others the full stature of maturity in Christ. (II Corinthians 9:6-8, Ephesians 4:11-16, Philippians 2:14-16, Colossians 3:17-23, I Thessalonians 5:17-18)
TWO ORDINANCES
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has committed two ordinances to the local church: baptism and the Lord’s Supper. We believe that Christian baptism is immersion of a believer in water into the name of the triune God. We believe that the Lord’s Supper was instituted by Christ for commemoration of His death. We believe that these two ordinances should be observed and administered until the return of the Lord Jesus Christ. (Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 2:41-42, Romans 6:3-5, I Corinthians 11:23-32)

CORE VALUES

We Prayerfully Value Scripture
We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and that it has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. (John 17:17, Romans 15:4, II Timothy 3:16-17, II Peter 1:19-21). The Bible is God’s Word of life to the world. the Bible is our road map to discern the voice and actions of God in the earth. Through the Bible, we gain deep revelation who Yahweh is. It is the foundation of all that we believe and teach and the blueprint for how to live as citizens of His kingdom on earth.
We Prayerfully Value Pentecost
The Holy Spirit has called Restoration Church to be a people who live and walk in the Spirit. We believe all the gifts of the Spirit are active today. We believe the Holy Spirit empowers the body of Christ corporately and individually to fulFill the mission of God on the earth.
We Prayerfully Value Holiness
Holiness is beautiful. God chose us and set us apart for His glory. Our lifestyles reflect the character of the God who called us to Himself. We believe that He calls us to be holy in order to reveal His grace, mercy, and love to a broken world.
We Prayerfully Value Christ’s Kingdom
We know that Christ rules over all creation. Our call is to manifest the reality of His reign. By serving our communities, loving people, and reaching the lost, we embody Christ’s kingdom on earth.
We Prayerfully Value All Generations
We celebrate all generations and acknowledge that each is essential in the body of Christ. We honor those who have gone before us and empower those who are following. The contribution of each generation is welcomed and encouraged as we pursue our God-given purpose.
We Prayerfully Value All Life
We celebrate all life and acknowledge that every life is . We honor those who have gone before us and empower those who are following. The contribution of each generation is welcomed and encouraged as we pursue our God-given purpose.
We Prayerfully Value Justice
As a church, we are called to corporately and individually see justice established. We intercede for those who have no voice. We stand with the poor, the weak, and the oppressed. We will not be silent in the face of injustice. We will be a place of hope.
We Prayerfully Value Generosity
All of our resources, whether material or spiritual, are gifts from a loving God. We do not live fearfully based on our lack. We live gratefully based on God’s provision. We commit ourselves to be obedient as tithers, joyful in giving, and generous in heart. As He gave, so shall we give.
We Prayerfully Value Excellence
We strive to give God our best.  Our team works hard to prepare and make sure that we are ready to minister to the people and to honor God. We continually challenge the people to go deeper with the Lord. We look for opportunities to be better leaders and to better serve the people entrusted to us.  We commit to continually ask the Lord for creative ideas and innovation to reach and lead people, however, we understand and admit that the Holy Spirit is in control of all that we do.
We Prayerfully Value Family and Fellowship
Even before God established the church, He established marriage and family.  In a culture that is trying to tear apart and discredit traditional biblical family, we value and prioritize family.  This includes church family and our local fellowship of believers. We are one family and will intentionally encourage, pray for, support and be a resources for those that God has sent to fellowship with us.
We Prayerfully Value Discipleship
We seek to provide an environment that will help us make disciples.  Through our small groups we believe we can create a culture of discipleship and fellowship where people can find purpose and connect with other believers. We believe that our small groups will encourage believers to continually build community as well as look for opportunities to go out and share the love of Christ in their world.
