The Tabernacle (Meet Me Here)

Tabernacle

Meet Me Here

Text: Exodus 25:1-9
God instituted the Tabernacle as a place to meet His people.  Sin in the garden separated man from God. We were never intended to be separated from God, but to walk in close covenant with Him.

When we come to the Tabernacle to worship, it should not just be an enter in ritual, but a “Lord, prepare me to be a sanctuary. Pure and Holy. Tried and True.”

There were two courts: the outer courts where there was natural light and the inner courts behind the veil where He was the Light.  In the Holy Place the menorah was the light.

Man can’t create the light of His glory.

We can’t just enter in. There is a process.  We must first come to the brazen altars to bring repentance.

Christ is the center of biblical worship - its called “Christocentric worship”

Modern day worship focuses on the people responding to the music rather than our sacrifice touching the heart of Christ.

This has resulted in worship that is driven by feelings, the needs of the people, the topic or theme of the sermon, entertainment, sensitive to the “seeker or non believers.”

  • Christocentric worship makes Jesus the priority.

  • Christocentric worship honors God the Father.

  • Christocentric worship welcomes the presence of the Lord to fill the temple.

          • worship has no effect if He is not there. He is the audience.

Exodus 40 - without His glory the Tabernacle wasn’t complete

  • Christocentric worship embraces Christ’s passion for the lost.

to praise - Praise ultimately derives from a Latin word “pretium”, meaning “price” or “worth,”

appraisal - verb appraise comes from the Latin word “appretiare”, which means “value” or “estimate.”

Towdah – Sacrifice of praise.

Foundational to all other forms of praise. Towdah is a heart of faith-praise given at a
cost/sacrifice. Historically expressed by raising the right hand (a sign of covenant), as a
physical declaration that you believe and glorify God even when you cannot see/feel Him.

If your worship hasn’t cost you something, it can’t please the Father.

Yadah – Hands raised – surrender, cry-out, throw/bless, receive.

Barak – Quiet voice – kneel, bow, humility, submission.

Halal – Soul rejoice – dance, shine forth, clamourously exclaim.

Zamar – Play for Him a song – to praise with an instrument.

Tehilah – You can sing along – spontaneous combination of any/all – new song.

Shabach – Shout for joy – loudly, triumphant, as if victory was in balance and we win!

I was created for worship. I know what we have been told about worship, but at some point we have to move beyond the outer courts in to see the God of the Bible high and lifted up. The train of his rob from victory upon victory fills the temple.

I don’t want to worship the idea of the God of the Bible. I want to worship Him until Her shows up and I begin to see the promises of His Word begin to manifest.

Many of you walk around with a weapon in your pocket.

But your praise is a weapon that tears down strong holds.

"A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only look with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. Because you have made the Lord your refuge, the Most High your dwelling place, no evil shall befall you, no scourge come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. On their hands they will bear you up, so that you will not dash your foot against a stone" (Psalm 91:7-12)
Praise is our communication of Who God Is, What He Has Done, And What He Can Do (a deposit down on what I am believing Him to do.

Praise is an act of my will - not my emotions.

I will bless the Lord at all times.
