Revelation Revealed Pt 9

Revelation Revealed

Pt 9

Lukewarm Church
Revelation 3:14-22

    • Do not be deceived by the “good”, God has called us to much more than what is comfortable. We need to be refined and through the refining, we can see the truth and be imitators of Christ
    • What do we see Jesus doing in scripture? Miracles!

      • Miracles were mostly to help others believe

  • 30 Miracles

    • 30 times God was willing
    • 17 times faith or them asking took place
    • 10 times He touched them
    • 4 times he rebuked, never the individual
    • 4 times he did it through compassion, not from them asking

  • If miracles were to help others believe, then why do we pursue them more than God?
  • Jesus only gets angry with the religious people, the hypocrites, the false prophets, believers. Rebuking was not the most common practice but Revelation 3:19 says he rebukes those that he loves and chastens them. Referencing believers
  • If authority comes from Jesus then we should imitate Jesus (Matt 10:1;Luke9:1-2)
  • We are instructed to ASK in Jesus name, so that God may be glorified, not ourselves (John 14:12-4)
  • Peter, Paul and Barnabas reject receiving the glory from the miracles
  • We receive power from the Holy Spirit to be witnesses (Act 1:8)
  • We are given power but also love and self discipline (2 Tim 1:7)
  • No matter what miracle or good deed you perform, it is pointless unless you are seeking God’s will. (Matt 7:21-23)
  • Be cautious not to be deceived (1 John 4:1)
  • Revelation 3:20-22

    • He is knocking, are you going to open?
