Enter His Gates (Horse Gate)

Enter His Gates

Horse Gate

The Horse Gate was the main gate of coming and going for Jerusalem’s fighting forces.

It was strategically situated near the king’s palace, allowing the army to rapidly receive orders in times of emergency and then leave quickly by the main roads out of the city.

It was most likely named the Horse Gate in the days of King Solomon, who stabled his large herd of horses near this gate.

The Horse Gate speaks to us of Christian warfare and our need to stand firmly while facing the enemy.

Just as the stables and soldiers were positioned near the king’s palace we should make sure we stay close to Jesus, where we can receive his orders and be prepared to obey them promptly.

Satan’s hatred of us will manifests itself in our lives as conflicts, trials, temptations, strife, and persecution, these attacks should also bring us into a place of victory and spiritual growth.

Revelation 19:11-16
“Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war.
His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself.
He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.
And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses.
Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND
LORD OF LORDS.”

Romans 5:3 says, “We also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.”

James 1:2-4
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”

Trials help the believer, not to put his trust in himself, but to depend entirely on the Lord.

We know that the attacks will be personal. We see an example of the personal nature of Satan’s attacks in the familiar story of the Lord’s temptation in the desert after his baptism (Matthew 4:1-11).

In his perfect humanity, Jesus felt the weight of all these attacks, but He did not give in to them.

“For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet was without sin (Hebrews 4:15).”

Right now , Jesus himself is interceding for us at the right hand of God.

There is a Man in glory who can empathize with us when we face different kinds of trials and attacks from our enemy.

The devil attacked the human nature of the Lord while he was in a weakened state.

He suggested that He make bread out of stones when the Lord was hungry after fasting for forty days.

Satan also tempted him regarding his identity. “Are you really the Son of God?” was the question underlying the temptation to throw Himself down from the temple.

Satan tried to put doubts in His mind about God’s care of Him, and he tempted Jesus to do something carnal to reveal to others who He was.

But the time was not right for the Lord to reveal Himself. After this, Satan offered Him power, fame, position, and sovereignty over the world —but on condition that the Lord bowed down and worshiped him.

Jesus answered all these temptations with Scripture. This is where our victory is found as well.
1 Timothy 4:1 reminds us that in the last days some will depart from the faith.

When people are deceived they often don't see it. People on the outside normally notice it first. This is why it is important who is speaking into your life. The enemy doesn't announce when he is in the room. The church needs discernment again. God will put people in your life to see the things that you don't see because of the doors that He is wanting to open.

Isaiah 54:17
No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, And their righteousness is from Me," Says the LORD.

Romans 8:37
Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come,
nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

1 Corinthians 15:57
But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

2 Thessalonians 3:3
But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.

Ephesians 6:12-13

1. Be strong in the Lord.
2. Be well armed.
3. Withstand.
4. Stand your ground.
5. Stand armed.
6. Peace must be your shoes, Faith must be your shield and salvation must be your helmet.
