The Tabernacle (Table of Showbread)

We come to the Table of Showbread 

Scripture: Exodus 37:10-16

To reject the meal is to reject the host. 

Only kids want a happy meal everyday.  We want a happy meal church and will look for a prize. We don’t want to share either.  Make sure I get a prize and that blessed me. 

I can’t go to that church cause I ain’t being fed. 

Or we want the Burger King gospel - I want it my way. 

Whose table are you at? remember the old days when we had to eat what was put in front of us. 

If I am at the Lord’s table it’s not a question of whether I like what He has cooked He has invited me to the table to eat and what He has put on the table will sustain me. 

Whosoever is welcomed at this table.  

Were going to love people where they are.  Whether they stink or not. 

There’s room at the cross for you. 

Don’t be so busy doing something for God that you miss doing something with God.  


The word, “bread” is 5 different words in scripture - 3 in the Hebrew and 2 in the Greek. 

Lev 24:5-9  - 

- 12 pieces of bread, 6 in one row six in another.
- pour frankincense on each row.

On the sabbath they would replace the bread.  They would get new bread and the high priest would eat the bread. 

Fresh bread 

Lechem  - to eat bread 

Paniym - the face - to meet me at the mouth.  

Ma’arekketh - to arrange in a row or set in a pile, to stack up. 

Artios - fresh, complete

Prosthesis - a setting forth 

Jesus is the bread - I am the bread of life. 

John 6:48-51 

Frankincense would be poured over the bread. 

Have the bread in you when you ate it.

Frankincense - the oil of peace so when they ate it would be inside of them. 

You can take melatonin to put you asleep, but not have peace when you sleep. 

You can have rest, but not have peace. 

Frankincense in its purest form is an irritant to the flesh. 

Do you want the oil or do you want the flesh. 

Frankincense has been linked to killing cancer.

The oil will kill the thing inside of you that is trying to kill you.  

Peace will kill the thing that is trying to kill you. 

The power of the table is in the bread that’s on the table. 

Matthew 15:27 - she came for the bread.

Psalm 23:1-6

“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.”

enemies - get rid of my enemies. Nope, he prepares a table for you in their presence. 

He invites you to come, right in the middle of the chaos and right in the to battle He provides a table of provision and peace!!!
